Privacy Policy
How ABAI collects, uses and protects your personal data.
Last updated: 2026
Who we are
The All Bangladeshi Association of Ireland (“ABAI”, “we”) is the data controller for the personal data processed through this platform. We operate under Irish and EU data protection law (GDPR). Contact: info@abai.ie.
What we collect
Account details (name, email, phone, county), membership records, event registrations, donation records and job submissions — only what each feature requires. Payment card data is handled by Stripe and never stored on our servers.
How we use it
To provide membership services, run events and elections, process donations and deliver notices you subscribe to. Your member record is visible only to the ABAI committee. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing.
Legal basis
Contract (membership and services you request), consent (marketing emails, analytics cookies), and legitimate interest (running the association securely).
Data residency & processors
Data is stored in the EU. Our processors — Supabase (database, EU region), Stripe (payments), Cloudinary (media), Resend (email) — are GDPR-compliant with EU Standard Contractual Clauses in place.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your data at any time from your member dashboard under “Privacy & data”, or by emailing info@abai.ie. Deletion cascades across all our records. You may also lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission.
Retention
Active member records are kept for the duration of membership. Inactive records are flagged after three years, and the committee is notified before any deletion.
